Occupational Therapy Service
The Occupational Therapy Service works to enable individuals to carry out activities of daily living, with the aim of maintaining or improving independence.
Occupational Therapists, Moving and Handling Risk Assessors and Occupational Therapy Assistants assess adults in their own home and will supply and recommend relevant equipment and adaptations to them home, subject to the legislation, working alongside other professionals both in and outside the council. The Occupational Therapy Service also provides leadership and management for:
- The Initial Contact Team;
- Reablement Service;
- Assistive Technology, including Carelink;
- Community Equipment provision;
- Adaptations to the home (including those funded by Disabled Facilities Grants DFG's);
- Assessment for Blue Badges for applicants who are not automatically eligible under the guidance;
- Moving and Handling Risk Assessment;
- Equipment for the deaf and hard of hearing;
- Contract link for Kent Association for the Blind and Deaf Plus.
